Just a note to express my complete
satisfaction and sincere appreciation for the above product. We have a 3 year
old Standard Schnauzer who lives in our house. He is a powerful, energetic,
exuberant canine who desperately needs to be allowed to run. His problem was, off
leash he was quite unpredictable. He is harmless, but looks quite menacing,
and occasionally, when you least expect it, would take off after a jogger, another dog, or
anything that attracted him. Once he was "on the hunt", nothing
would deter him from his quarry. I ordered the electronic collar, hoping this
might be the answer. The collar completely transformed this otherwise quite
unruly dog.
That was the last time I ever had to use the "shock". Now, when I tell him to come and give him the tone, he wheels from whatever distraction it may be and immediately returns to me. It is the most amazing transformation. He will now "heel" through any kind of setting, only needing a tone now and then to keep him at my side. We have found other training uses. He usually insisted on leaving the back seat of our vehicle, trying to place himself between us in the front seat. No amount of swatting and yelling would keep him in the rear portion of the car. Now, if he intrudes on our space, I simply reach for the remote of the electronic collar, and he resentfully retreats. Just the sight of the remote elicits good behaviour, without using even the tone. It also regulates his jumping up behaviour when guest arrive in our home. This is a most wonderful product. Instead of inhibiting the dog, it has allowed him much more freedom to run, and gives us the secure feeling of being able to retrieve him when we need to.
